Destructive actions only

Several capabilities are optional and off until somebody turns them on: invoicing, time tracking, financials, approval workflows, SLA and resource management.

An owner or admin switches them on under Workspace, then Advanced Features. Only then do their pages appear (Rates, Invoice Hub, the SLA group, Resource Management). They are described together under Advanced features below.

You

Your personal settings, visible to every user regardless of role:

Your profile (name, email, photo, skills)
Your profile (name, email, photo, skills)
  • Profile: your display name, photo (Change photo / Remove) and email.
  • Preferences: theme and colour palette, display language, timezone, date and time format, week start day, where Gript takes you when you sign in (see When you sign in below), plus a privacy toggle for usage analytics.
  • Notifications: choose what you want to be notified about. See Notifications.
  • Security & sign-in: see below.
  • Email & calendar: connect your Gmail or Outlook account to send email from tasks and sync your calendar. See Email.
  • API: personal API keys for the Gript API; create, copy and revoke.
  • AI for documents: connect an AI provider (bring your own key) for the notebook writing tools, choose who can use it, and set spending limits. See Write with AI.
  • Zen Collection: companions that grow as you complete boards.

When you sign in

Coming backWhat is restored
Where you wereThe board, notebook or dashboard you had open.
What you had open on itThe same item, reopened.
How you were looking at itThe same view and the same scroll position.
On another computerIt works there too, because your last spot is saved to your account rather than the browser.

The "When you sign in" setting: continue where you left off, start on Home, or be asked

Choose the behaviour in Settings → Preferences → When you sign in:

  • Continue where I left off (default): you go straight back to your last surface.
  • Always start on Home: you always land on the Home page; nothing is restored.
  • Ask me every time: a small "Continue where you left off?" card appears in the corner with Continue and Start fresh.

Notes:

  • Opening a direct link to a specific board or item always takes you there; the restore only kicks in when you land on Home.
  • Your board's own filters, sort, and collapsed groups are already remembered per board, so they come back whichever way you arrive.
Security and sign-in
Control Panel, Security
The security section of the Control Panel, with two factor authentication and the sign-in options

Security & sign-in

Everything sign-in related, in one place:

Security & sign-in: two-factor authentication and sessions
Security & sign-in: two-factor authentication and sessions
  • Two-factor authentication: set up 2FA with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy. A step-by-step guide walks you through scanning the QR code, and you get 8 one-time backup codes. Disable it again with a current code or a backup code.
  • Other sessions: "Sign out all other devices" signs out every browser and device except the one you're using.
  • Password: "Change password" asks for your current password and a new one; after the change you're signed out and sign back in with the new password.

Changing your password used to hide in the Danger Zone. It now lives here, because it's routine, not destructive.

Integrations & Data

Integrations & Data: import from monday.com, Trello, Asana, Jira, ClickUp, or CSV
Integrations & Data: import from monday.com, Trello, Asana, Jira, ClickUp, or CSV
  • Data Migration: import boards and data from Trello, Asana, monday.com, Jira, ClickUp, or a CSV/Excel/JSON file. Open to every signed-in user: an import only ever creates boards inside your own workspace, so you no longer need an admin role to bring your data in. (The Gript-to-Gript Bridge inside this section stays platform-admin only.)

What the Asana wizard brings over.

In AsanaBecomes in Gript
ProjectsBoards, in an "Imported Data" folder.
SectionsGroups.
Tasks and subtasksItems and subitems.
TagsA Dropdown column, with every tag kept.
Due datesA Date column.
The completed stateA Checkbox column.
Custom fieldsMatching typed columns: text, number, date, dropdown, status, person.
Task descriptionsKeep their formatting: bold, lists, links and line breaks.
Assignees and people fieldsMatched to workspace members by email in the Map Users step, with manual overrides.
Comments and attachmentsCome along when the checkboxes are on, up to 100 MB per file, which is Asana's own maximum.

A large import can take a while, because Asana limits how fast its data can be read. The progress bar stays live throughout, and if a project fails partway its half-imported board is removed automatically, so running the import again starts clean.

What the Trello wizard brings over.

In TrelloBecomes in Gript
BoardsBoards.
ListsGroups.
CardsItems.
ChecklistsSubitems.
Card labelsA multi-select Dropdown column, with every label on a card kept.
Due datesA Date column.
Card descriptionsThe item body.
AttachmentsUploaded files come along. External links such as Google Drive or Dropbox are skipped.

Trello card members are not matched to Gript accounts. Trello does not share its members' email addresses through its API, so there is no reliable way to tell which Gript person a Trello member is. Their names still arrive in a Members column, and you assign the right person yourself afterwards. This is a Trello-only limitation: Asana, monday.com and Jira do share emails, so those imports match people for you. The Review step of the Trello wizard says so, to save the surprise.

Every import keeps going, and tells you what happened.

When something goes wrongWhat the import does
The other service is busy, or the connection blipsIt waits and tries again rather than failing.
When it finishesYou get a plain-language summary: how much came in, and for anything that did not, what it was, why, and what to do about it.
Typical advice in that summaryRun the import again to pick up the rest, download an oversized file by hand, or assign a person who could not be matched.
Running an import twiceNothing you have already imported is touched or duplicated.
  • Email Templates: transactional email copy (platform admin only).
Advanced features
Control Panel, Advanced Features
The Advanced Features section, where an owner switches the optional features on for the workspace

Advanced features (owners and admins)

These are optional and off by default. An owner or admin switches them on under Workspace → Advanced Features. Turning one on adds its tools across the app and its settings pages; turning it off hides them again.

Advanced Features: optional add-ons (Resource Management, Time Tracking, Invoicing, Approval Workflows, Financials, SLA), off by default, each with a toggle
Advanced Features: optional add-ons (Resource Management, Time Tracking, Invoicing, Approval Workflows, Financials, SLA), off by default, each with a toggle
  • Invoicing: create invoices from logged time and budgets, and email them from Gript. Adds the Invoice Hub page under Billing & Finance. See Financials.
  • Time tracking: a per-item start/stop timer, the timesheet view, and time reports. See Time tracking.
  • Financials: hourly rates, project budgets, and profit-and-loss widgets. Adds the Rates page under Billing & Finance. See Financials.
  • Approval workflows: the Approval column type and submit, review and approve chains. See Approvals and SLA.
  • SLA: time-based service targets with live countdowns. Adds a whole SLA group with its configuration pages: Overview, Templates, Business Hours, Teams, Time Targets, Clock Rules and Policies. See Approvals and SLA.
  • Resource management: workload and capacity planning. Adds the Resource Management page under Workspace and the Resources views. See Resource management.

Platform (platform admin)

Platform-wide administration: Analytics dashboards (revenue, subscribers, usage, accounts and more), Beta feature flags, System status, and internal Documentation.

Danger Zone

Only destructive, permanent actions live here. Every action asks you to type a confirmation before anything happens.

The Danger Zone: permanent, confirmation-gated actions
The Danger Zone: permanent, confirmation-gated actions
  • Delete my account (everyone): permanently anonymises your account and removes you from all boards. You type your name to confirm, plus your password, if you sign in with one.
  • Reset all boards, Remove all members, Delete entire account (account owner only): workspace-level resets, each confirmed by typing the account name.

Common questions

Can't find a setting I expected. It may be admin-only (Workspace, Billing & Finance, Integrations & Data) or behind a feature toggle under Advanced Features. Check with your workspace owner or admin.

Where did "Reset password" go? Settings → You → Security & sign-in → Change password. It's no longer in the Danger Zone.

Will changing my time zone retroactively change item dates? No. Items already saved keep their original date. Only new displays use the new time zone.

How do I find inactive members? Workspace admin can see "last active" per user in member management.
