Everything you need to know about how your account is structured, in plain language, no jargon.
1
Four levels, from biggest to smallest
1
Account
Your company's private home in Gript. Everyone you invite is a member of the same account. Only people you explicitly invite can enter. Example: Acme Corp.
2
Board
A project or area of work. Create as many as you need: one per project, per department, per process, or however makes sense for your team. Example: Website Redesign.
3
Group
A section inside a board. Groups are how you divide work: by stage (To Do / In Progress / Done), by priority, by team, or anything else. Example: In Progress.
4
Item
The actual task, deliverable, or piece of work. Items live inside a group and can have columns attached, like Status, Assignee, Due Date, and more. Example: Design new homepage mockup.
Where does an item live?
Every item has a complete addressWhich is
AccountYour workspace.
BoardA project or area of work, picked from the sidebar.
GroupA section inside the board, shown as a band of rows.
ItemThe row itself. Click it to open its detail panel.
Signing in lands you on Home first: a greeting, your recent boards, and what is due soon.
Private by default
Your account is completely private. No one outside can see it, and new boards aren't automatically visible to all members: you choose who gets access to each board. New member joined? They see nothing until you add them to a board or team.
Boards are flexible
A board can be a project, a process, a department backlog, or a CRM. You decide what it represents and how to divide it into groups. There's no single right way. Common group patterns: stages (To Do / Doing / Done), priorities (High / Medium / Low), or departments (Design / Dev / QA).
Columns are customizable
Each board can have its own columns: Status, Assignee, Due Date, Numbers, Dropdowns, and more. You add only what's useful for that specific board. Less clutter, more clarity. Start with just Status and Assignee. Add more columns as your team settles into how they work.
Access follows the board
Access is controlled per board. A board can be restricted so only the people invited to it (and, for a team board, that team's members) can see it. Account Owners and Admins do get Full access to ordinary private boards in their workspace. To keep a board like HR, salary, or executive planning hidden from account admins, put it under a Team those admins are not members of. A plain private board does not hide from them.

Getting in
Start your own workspace, or join one that exists.
To start your own, go to the sign-up page and choose Start your free trial. You pick Private (just you) or Business (your company or team). The trial runs 14 days, unlocks every feature, and asks for no card.
Joining a workspace somebody else runsHow you get in
An emailed invitationA button that takes you straight in, with a code as a fallback.
Google or MicrosoftWhere the workspace allows it, signing in that way places you automatically.
A request to joinWhere that is how they have set it up.
4
Signing in without a password
There is no password to create, forget, or reset.
1
Type your email address and press Continue
That address is your account, whatever method you use to get in.
2
Read the six digit code we email you
The code is in the subject line as well as the message, so you can usually read it from the notification without opening the email.
3
Type it in
The code lasts ten minutes and works once. Asking for a new one cancels the previous one, so always use the newest email.
You can also sign in with Google or Microsoft. Because your account is the email address rather than the method, signing in one way today and another way tomorrow lands you in the same account. Nothing is duplicated.
Tick Keep me signed in and Gript will not ask again for a week on that browser.
1
Open Control Panel, then Security
Two-factor authentication is optional and entirely your own choice.
2
Scan the QR code with any authenticator app
Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, whichever you use.
3
Save the eight one-time backup codes
Somewhere safe, such as a password manager, in case you lose your phone.
You can turn it off again from the same screen.
Signing in opens a home page that greets you and shows your recent boards and what is due soon.
The page you will actually live in is My Work: every task assigned to you, from every board, in one list, with a calendar view beside it.
Click Home at the top of the icon rail to reach it. There is a whole guide to it in My Work.
7
Getting around
The rail on the far left is the whole app.
8
Where to go next
Five minutes each, in the order most people need them.
Boards and views
Make your first board and see the same work as a table, a Kanban, a calendar or a timeline.
Items
What a task holds: columns, subtasks, comments, files, reminders.
Sharing and permissions
Nothing you make is visible to anyone until you share it. This explains who can see what.
Bringing your data in
Move your boards over from monday.com, Trello, Asana, Jira, ClickUp or a spreadsheet.
Can one account belong to several workspaces?
No. Your account belongs to a single workspace, and workspaces are completely separate. That is why there is no workspace switcher: there is nothing to switch between.
Do I need an invite to try Gript?
No. Start a free trial yourself. If you are joining a company that already uses Gript, ask their administrator to invite you instead, so you land in their workspace rather than a new one.
Is there really no password?
None. Sign in with a one-time emailed code, or with Google or Microsoft. There is nothing to set and nothing to leak.
The code did not arrive.
Check spam, make sure you typed the address you actually signed up with, and ask for a new one. A new code cancels the previous one, so use the latest email.
Can I change my language or time zone?
Yes, both are in Control Panel under Profile and Preferences. Gript is available in English, Danish, German, French, Spanish and Italian.
