Two tools get you anywhere in Gript fast: the command palette (press Ctrl+K, or Cmd+K on a Mac) and the topbar Hub. This guide covers what the palette searches, how results are grouped, the quick actions it offers, keyboard shortcuts, and what the Hub does with your reminders and recurring tasks.
1
The Command Palette
In plain English: one shortcut, one box, everything you can reach in Gript.
Press Ctrl and K, or Cmd and K on a Mac, anywhere in Gript.
Boards
By name and description.
Tasks
Names, descriptions and the values in cells.
Comments
Task updates and page comments.
Pages
Titles and the full body of a notebook page.
It only ever searches what you already have access to, and it doubles as a quick launcher for a couple of common actions before you type anything.
One shortcut, everywhere
Ctrl+K or Cmd+K opens it from any screen in Gript. There is also a search icon in the topbar that opens the same box.
Grouped, live results
Type a few letters and results stream in, grouped by type, each with a snippet showing why it matched.
Scoped to your access
You only ever see results from boards, pages, and files you can open, and people in your own workspace.
Typing an exact task ID, for example PROD-42, jumps straight to that item as a Top result above everything else.
2
Opening the Palette
Two ways in. Both land on the same search box.
1
Press Ctrl+K / Cmd+K
Works from anywhere in the app, whether you are looking at a board, a notebook, or a dashboard.
2
Click the search icon in the topbar
The magnifying glass icon on the right side of the topbar opens the exact same palette.

3
What It Searches
Seven groups. Gript looks past the title into the actual content.
GroupWhat it matches
Top result (Exact ID)Shown only when your search matches a task ID exactly, for example PROD-42. Selecting it jumps straight to that item.
BoardsThe board name, or text in its description.
TasksThe item name, its description, or the text inside any column or cell value. The row shows which field matched, for example "in description" or "in Notes".
CommentsTask comments and notebook page comments whose text matches. Selecting one opens the task or page it lives on.
PagesA notebook page title, or anywhere in the full page body, not just the visible preview.
FilesBoard attachments and notebook attachments matching the file name.
PeopleA workspace member matching their name or email. Selecting one copies their email to your clipboard.
A worked example: typing a customer's name surfaces the CRM board it is on, any task mentioning them in the description or a cell, comments where someone typed their name, a notebook page about them, and any file named after them, all in one box.
Which columns count: when it looks inside a task, Gript matches text-type columns (text, long text, and links), not every column type. Numbers, dates, and status labels are not searched this way.
4
Quick Actions
Before you type anything, the palette offers a couple of shortcuts of its own.
Open the palette without typing a search and you see two short lists instead of results.

Keyboard Navigation
The palette, and the rest of Gript, is built to run without touching the mouse.
Inside the palette, use the arrow keys to move between results and Enter to open the highlighted one. The footer at the bottom of the box always shows the three controls: Navigate, Select, and Close.
KeyWhat it does
Up / Down arrowsMove the highlight up or down through the results, or the quick actions.
EnterOpen or run whatever is highlighted.
EscClose the palette.
Beyond the palette, press ? anywhere (outside a text field) to open the full keyboard shortcuts overlay. It is organised into groups:
GroupWhat it covers
NavigationOpen search, find on board, open settings, new board, invite user, close the current dialog or panel.
Rich Text EditorBold, italic, underline, strikethrough, lists, and indent, for any comment or document you are writing in.
Sticky NotesShow or hide sticky notes, add a new one, group or ungroup selected notes.
CreateN creates a new item, page, or dashboard, depending on which screen you are on.
CommentsSend a comment, move between @mention suggestions, insert a mention, dismiss the mention list.
Help? opens or closes this overlay.
The exact key names shown in the overlay adjust to your keyboard: Ctrl on Windows, Cmd on a Mac.

The Hub
One place for everything scheduled: your reminders and your recurring tasks.
The HubWhere and what
Where the icon isA small grid in the top bar, near the notifications bell.
The badge on itYour current count of active reminders.
On a narrow top barFind The Hub in the overflow (three dots) menu instead.
SegmentWhat it shows
Reminders (Default)Your task deadline reminders, page and sticky note reminders, your global default, and per board settings.
RecurringEvery recurring task across your workspace: its schedule, when it next runs, which board and group it creates into, who owns it, and whether it is active or paused. Search by name, filter to active or paused, and group by board, owner, or schedule type. From here you can pause, resume, run one now, or open it to edit the full recurrence rule.
Update Requests (Conditional)External edit links you have shared, grouped by board. This segment only appears once you have at least one active link; it disappears again once none are left.
Public Links (Conditional)The public links and pages you have shared. This segment appears once you have at least one active public link or page, and lists them so you can review or revoke access.
Opening The Hub from the topbar icon or the overflow menu always lands you on the Reminders segment. A toggle at the top of the panel switches between segments, and the content fades in place, so switching is instant and you never lose your position.

Your navigation home. Everything you can reach lives here, top to bottom.
SectionWhat it is
My WorkA running total of tasks assigned to you across every board, with a count badge.
InboxYour email inbox, when Email is enabled for the workspace.
BoardsOrganised into folders. Right-click a folder for New board, Rename, Color, or Delete folder.
NotebooksYour notebooks and their pages.
Shared with meBoards and pages other people have shared directly with you, from outside your own workspace structure.
Sticky notesThe panel for your sticky notes.
Drag any item to reorder it. Click a folder's chevron to collapse or expand it.

Coming back to where you were
Gript remembers, per area and across devices.
Clicking a section icon in the icon rail does not dump you on that section front page. It reopens the exact place you last had open there.
IconWhere it takes you
BoardsYour last board, including one that was shared with you.
DashboardsYour last dashboard.
NotesYour last notebook and the page you were reading, which also survives a browser refresh.
FilesYour last folder, with the same filters and sorting you left on it.
The icon rail and the panel If whatever you were looking at has since been deleted, you simply land on that section main page instead.
Signing in works the same way, and you decide how, in Control Panel, then Preferences, under When you sign in.
ChoiceWhat happens
Continue where I left offStraight back to the board, notebook or dashboard you had open.
Always start on HomeA clean start every time. The polite setting if you share your screen a lot.
Ask me every timeGript asks which you want.
It is stored with your account rather than the browser, so it works when you move between machines.
If you share a screen a lot, Always start on Home is the polite setting: nobody sees the board you happened to be in the middle of.
9
The Icon Rail
The far left strip of icons: Home, Boards, Notebook, Dashboards, and more.
The icon rail stays a slim, icons-only column at all times. It does not widen, and each icon's name shows as a small tooltip when you hover it.
Hovering the rail does still open the board list panel beside it when that panel is unpinned. That is the panel, not the rail: the rail itself keeps the same width throughout.
Return to where you left off. Clicking Boards, Dashboards, Notes, or Files in the rail reopens the exact place you last had open there, not the section's front page: your last board, your last dashboard, your last notebook and page (this survives a browser refresh too), or your last folder with the same filters and sorting. If that item has since been deleted, you land on the section's main page instead.

Common Questions
Quick answers to what people ask most.
Why does search not find my item?
Search is scoped to what you have access to. An item on a board not shared with you, or a page or file you cannot open, will not appear. Within your access, search looks inside item names, descriptions, column and cell values, comments, full notebook page bodies, file names, and people, so most terms surface the right result.
Does search cover everything in Gript?
Search covers your whole workspace in one place: boards, tasks, comments, pages, files, and people you have access to. There is no separate workspace to switch to.
Can I search inside comments?
Yes. Search covers task comments and notebook page comments, alongside descriptions, cell values, full page bodies, files, and people.
What happens if I search an exact task ID?
It appears as a Top result above every other group, and selecting it jumps straight to that item.
Selecting a person in search does not open anything. Is that a bug?
No, that is by design. Selecting a person in the People group copies their email address to your clipboard instead of opening a page.
How is the Hub different from the notifications bell?
The notifications bell shows individual alerts as they happen. The Hub is a scheduling overview: your reminder rules and every recurring task, plus any update request links you have shared, gathered under one toggle.
Where do I turn off the hover to expand rail behaviour?
Control Panel › Preferences › Sidebar Behavior, the Expand menu on hover toggle. Turning it off keeps the icon rail slim and switches each icon's label to a tooltip.
I collapsed a board folder in the sidebar. Will Gript remember that?
Yes, folder collapse state and item order are remembered, along with the last board, dashboard, notebook page, or file folder you had open in each section.
Why does clicking Boards open a board instead of the list?
Because that is where you were last. It is meant to save you the two clicks. To change it, or to always start on Home when you sign in, see Control Panel, Preferences, When you sign in.
Does that follow me to another computer?
Yes. Where you left off is kept with your account, not with the browser.
