How Gript looks is a personal setting. Change anything here and it follows you to any browser you sign in from, and nobody else in your workspace sees a difference.
Everything on this page lives in Control Panel, then Preferences, under Appearance. Open the Control Panel from the Settings entry in the sidebar or from your avatar in the top bar.

Light, dark, or follow the machine

SystemFollows whatever your computer is set to, and switches with it when your machine goes dark in the evening.

Dark GreyA softer dark, grey rather than near-black. Easier on some screens.
There is a quicker way when you just want to flip: the theme control in the top bar. The Control Panel is where you go to make it permanent or pick Dark Grey.

Colour palette
The accent and surface colours, separately from light and dark.
The palette decides the colour of buttons, links and highlights, and the exact shade of the surfaces behind them. It is independent of light and dark, so you pick a palette and it works in both.
GRIPT
Light cream with quiet grey. The default look of the product.
Fresh
Off-white with a vivid blue accent.
Warm Stone
Warm off-white with indigo.
Cloud Muted
Blue-grey surfaces with a dusty blue accent.
Bright Slate
White with a cool slate blue.
Bright Navy
White with deep navy and a copper accent.
Bright Sage
White with a vivid sage green.
Slate & Taupe
Grey surfaces with warm taupe.
Nordic Frost
The classic: pure white with blue.
Click one and the whole app changes immediately, so you can try a few and keep the one you can read best.
The left side of Gript is two things: a slim icon rail that never changes width, and a panel beside it holding your boards, notebooks or dashboards. Sidebar Behavior decides how the panel comes and goes.

Peek RailThe default. The icon rail stays put and the panel appears when you move the mouse onto the rail.
Full VanishEverything hides. Hover the left edge of the screen, or use the menu button, to bring it back. The most screen space.
Dock ModeThe rail stays and the panel floats over your work instead of pushing it aside, so nothing on the page moves when it opens.

It reads UnpinThe panel is pinned: open, and it never slides away. This is how a new account starts.
You click UnpinThe panel reveals itself on hover instead.
It reads PinClick it to lock the panel open again.
Either wayYour choice is remembered in that browser.
Beyond the ready-made palettes, some workspaces have Theme Studio, a live editor for the look of the whole app. You open it from your avatar in the top bar, under Theme: Browse themes to apply one, Customise theme to edit.
The editor docks to the left, to the right, or floats, and the app repaints as you drag, so you are never guessing at a swatch.

A theme cannot be published publicly unless its colours pass the AA readability standard, so anything you pick up from the gallery is legible. Gript also keeps the last few versions of each theme, so an edit you regret can be rolled back.
A few colours can never be themed: success, warning and error, the status colours, and the priority colours. That is deliberate. It means no theme can ever make a warning look calm or two statuses look the same.
Theme Studio is not switched on for everyone yet. If your avatar menu has no Theme entry, your workspace does not have it, and the palettes above are what you have.
Does changing the theme affect my colleagues?
No. Theme, palette and sidebar behaviour are yours alone. They travel with your account, not with the workspace.
Why did my board list stop appearing when I hover?
Check Sidebar Behavior. In Always Show the panel does not hover-reveal, because it is meant to be permanently open. Peek Rail, Full Vanish and Dock Mode all reveal on hover.
The sidebar keeps hiding and I want it to stay.
Click Pin under the workspace logo. Pinned means open and staying open, whatever the mode does.
Can I set the app to dark only in the evening?
Choose System and set your computer to switch at sunset. Gript follows it.
Where did the quick colour swatches in the avatar menu go?
They were replaced by the theme gallery once every palette became a proper theme. The palettes themselves are still there, in Control Panel, Preferences.
